Taking the Temperature

This past October, the HSNVA made a major contribution to the Health Sciences North Intensive Care Unit, contributing $34,577.12 to help facilitate the purchase of new thermometers for the department.  Melissa Stringer and Corrie Myre, both employees at the Intensive Care Unit, joined the HSNVA in their October board meeting to explain the importance of the donation.  Until now, the ICU had been limited in both the quality and quantity of thermometers available, with staff often having to share and borrow thermometers between rooms several times a day.  This donation allows each room in the Intensive Care Unit to have a dedicated, high quality thermometer to take patient temperatures, a task done several times each day.
